I have a Canon 7D with latest Firm ware 2.0.3 with a Eye-Fi X2 4GB and recently purchased a SDHC SD MMC to Compact Flash CF Card Reader Adapter from eBay and works perfect with iPhone 4s IOs 6 and 2012 MacBook Pro running Mountain Lion using Eye Fi App. Canon EOS 5D Mark II, 5D, 7D. Compact Flash CF Card Reader, WEme Aluminum USB 3.0 Micro SD Card Converter with OTG Adapter for Extreme Pro Professional Sandisk/ Lexar SDHC Memory Card and Samsung Galaxy, Mac Mini, Windows, Linux. But when you go back to the original file on the Compact Flash card are fine, no dropouts. My work flow is shooting in the field, using a Macbook Pro with a Thunderbolt CF reader, coping to a G-Drive mini (FW 800). Using a card reader Transferring images from the camera to computer by a cable connection has the advantage that everything you need is supplied with the camera. But that is the only advantage.

I cannot get my brand new Windows 7 computer with a built in card reader to read CF cards. When I insert the cards, a green light on the reader comes on, but nothing appears in my computer and I cannot find the files through Adobe Bridge either.I am shooting on a Canon 5D Mark II if that makes a difference. I have tried multiple cards, from old generation 1gig cards to brand new high-speed 16 gig cards, from both Scandisk and Lexar.Same result.Light comes on, nothing happens. When I plug the SD memory card from my small Canon Powershot into the SD slot on the same reader, it pops up immediately, no problem. What is the deal?My IT guy said he checked the reader and it does not appear to be a hardware problem. IU have tested the cards in my computer, a friend's iMac, and on my old Dell Laptop that is running Windoes XP. All work just fine.
This is a brand new $4,500 computer my office just bought me, and I come to find out that Windows 7 no longer renders PSD files as thumbnails either.I am a photographer and designer.Separate issue, but that’s also a huge deal for me.So far, after 2 weeks of use, I feel like the new OS is unfriendly to people in creative fields.About to buy a new computer for my home too – please give me a reason not to just suck it up, spend the extra $$, and buy a Mac Pro. I've been a staunch defender of PCs my whole life, and all my Adobe licenses are for Windows, but it would be worth the $$ to feel like I was using a machine engineered by people who actually cared about people working in my field.
